Graviton LTD, based in Zhuhai China, is our new sourcing partner for products we help our clients make in Asia. While the partnership is new, we have collaborated with Scott, the owner, for over 20 years on several projects spanning from hand tools to welders to bomb detectors. The main benefit to our clients who have parts or products made in China is having an American in China with a team of Chinese engineers, packaging specialist and sourcing agents. This combination helps reduce miscommunication and confusion which is one of the largest wastes of time in working with China from the US. Since Graviton, LTD has years of experience developing product and sourcing in China, they help mitigate all the typical issues that lead to big problems. They meet directly with suppliers and make sure that the suppliers understand what is expected from them. Additionally, they make sure they have answered any questions the supplier has and that everyone is on the same page. Graviton, LTD also inspects samples and initial production runs to make sure that the quality is right so that time and money is not wasted sending parts to the US.
To those not familiar with working with China, it is not the same as working with US companies. Costs are normally lower, but the effort and time it takes to keep the product and quality on track is much higher. The mind set is very different between the two countries when it comes to manufacturing. In dealing with China, there is normally much more effort put forward to achieving and maintaining a high level of quality. Graviton, LTD helps us reduce these issues by being able to spot issues early on and have the supplier take corrective action to deliver the product as requested.
